We did have five Mondays in the month of January so storytime schedule was not heavily affected. There has, however, been a drop off in attendance since Martin Luther King Day. I continue to post each week on Face Book and to send out reminder e-mails to families who have participated. I know there has been some family travel and one family moved out of state. I am hoping as weather warms and cold season moves on we will again have our larger group. I have changed up the format some adding songs, poems and some movement activities along with book(s), crafts, and snacks.

We held a make-it event in the afternoon on MLK Day. We had only a handful of young kids who made some simple musical instruments, and listened to several stories. They had snack during the time.

I met with Whitingham’s librarian, Kristine Sweeter to plan for the VT Reads Program. We will team on offering this program in late spring. We hope to have a Wings program, a film showing, a possible field trip and we are looking into a presentation. The book, Bread and Roses,Too by Katherine Paterson will be a book club selection in June. Both libraries will meet together so we will have a community event.

Respectfully submitted,
